Hi! I’m Daniel. I love technology, coding, and spending time with my wife, son, and two dogs.
I’m currently a Programmer Analyst for a local municipality in Wisconsin. I love what I do with a passion and enjoy working with people to find solutions to their problems. There’s nothing better than the feeling of contributing to something bigger than myself while making a positive impact on other people’s lives.
I’ve worked on many different projects that range from creating financial software and reports to creating a licensing system for the city. I also support and maintain many different programs, some of which are legacy systems. I also act as a backup for the municipality’s television station coordinator responsible for managing and scheduling a variety of television programs.
How about a little background?
After graduating high school, I enlisted in the Army as a Cavalry Scout (no I never rode a horse, unfortunately). I was stationed at an airborne unit in Alaska where I did more training as a paratrooper and eventually deployed to Afghanistan in 2009. My platoon, consisting of roughly 12-18 soldiers, conducted counter-insurgency operations in remote parts of eastern Afghanistan near the Pakistan border. After completing my combat tour, I was able to get promoted where I settled into a managerial position. This allowed me to focus on my life goals of getting a bachelor’s degree and starting a family. Having always loved technology, I decided to pursue a degree in Computer Science which has led me to where I am today.
Meet my two favorite people, Nicole and Oliver!
My wife and I started getting to know each other before we ever met in person. At the suggestion of a mutual friend, Nicole sent me a letter just for fun not long after I started basic training. Over the course of the next 5 months, we wrote countless letters and got to know each other quite well. We started dating after we finally met when I was home on leave from training. One enlistment and seven years later, we got married in 2015 and began a new chapter in our lives together. We now have an amazingly adorable son who keeps us busy and our lives interesting!
